Thank you!

Whoop- there go my panties!

So... the Hobbit animal abuse thing. It really seems to me that blame is getting attached to the biggest name connected to the story, and things are getting distorted. It's sad- a fucking tragedy- but boycotting the movie? The linked article makes it clear that the production company leased the farm the animals

Ugh. It's a mess, top to bottom. Let's unpack this piece by piece, shall we?

Thanks for making that connection- it totally makes sense now that I look back at the guys who seriously, irrationally rage at the idea of women pooping. I still can't get over how often it happens, though. You're ex sounds exactly like the guy I knew, and I've heard it from other guys as well. And I get the

Past the borderline, I would say... but yeah, they have deep problems. I know Mr. Trousersocks is a good one because not only does he not care that I shit, he knows I sometimes have digestive issues and he actually keeps better track of my system then I do. Love means knowing when your partner has to shit.

Hmm... this, I had never heard of but it makes so much more sense!

Thanks- it was very scary, and it was in college, so I had to continue the semester in class with him (the incident happened just off of campus after a class). I'm just glad I wasn't really hurt and hope he got the help he clearly needs.

This is maybe the most important article ever. So many things!!!

Exactly.

Please share the reading list!

Ever fantasize about Danny Pudi and Chef Mehta serving you breakfast in bed? Anyone? Just me?

Gah- I never thought I would write so much about school uniforms, but here we go:

We just wore our uniforms all the time, unless there was a special reason to change. But errands? Trips to the mall/pizza? Meeting up with Grandma? Uniform.

My experience with uniforms (as a wearer) was totally different- it was pretty freeing, actually. But my school also gave us a lot of leeway around the uniforms- if we were wearing the uniform and it was of appropriate length (for skirts) or not altered, we were free to dye our hair purple or wear platform Mary

Maybe my uniformed experience wasn't that bad, or was the exception to the norm, but really, it didn't hinder expression any more than a standard dress code, and in fact made it much easier to avoid dress code run-ins. I mean, the skaters still wore their khakis baggy, the goth girl still wore her clunky Mary Janes,

Nope. It wasn't embarrassing at all. The kids you know from school all wear a uniform, too, and the kids you don't know know that they don't know you, so they know you must go to a school that wears uniforms. It's not a big deal.

The only reasoning behind the whole "public panic" thing I can come up with... and I'm being extremely generous here... and I don't actually believe this is what's happening in this situation... is if, in a hypothetical town, there were already some highly charged incidences involving profiling of people who matched

*A lot of people are mentioning this in the other replies, so instead of replying to all of them, I'm just going to put this here- hope you don't mind, Ladyology!
