I'm pretty sure before BMW switched to the ZF 8 speed transmission, they used a GM 6 speed for a lot of the more pedestrian cars. Like the majority of 328 and 335's.

BMW did use GM automatic transmissions for a few years.

The Yeti seems pretty similar to the Tiguan we have here. It's just a shame you can only get the Tiguan with the old GTI engine instead of the 2 liter diesel.

I think it would be cool if Mercedes didn't make a S65 AMG Coupe and made it a Maybach exclusive. Stretch the front wheels forward so it's a front mid-engine V12 coupe with an absurdly long hood. If I had the money, I'd definitely buy that over a Rolls-Royce Wraith or Phantom Drophead.

Does anyone else like the Transformers movies just to geek out on the VFX and sound design? There's a really cool video of the sound designers for Transformers 3 and how they got the different sounds for the movie. The part with dry ice against bare metal is particularly cool.
