There’s no way in hell I would ever want to be anywhere near a car on a dyno, except maybe behind blast-proof glass on the other side of the building.  Wayyy too much can go wrong. 

Yes, this could have been a whole lot worse, the shock on the second strap when the first on broke could have easily broken it as well, and then you could have had a real mess.

A mechanic died recently in Brazil on a similar situation. It is so freaking dangerous to stand by the side of cars while testing.

They were way slower because they never had a working hybrid system, so they were about 500 horsepower down and lacking AWD on the other teams. I still maintain they could have had a competent car with another year of testing before entering the series (like Porsche did).

It actually has more to do with the electrical system than anything. per SAE testing standards, the US-spec WRX’s need to have their horsepower rated while charging 3 vape pens. The added load on the alternator is why the US Subarus have a lower horsepower rating.

From that day onwards, Sir Stewart never left home without his digital tire pressure gauge.
