Was hoping for another unknown actor. A little more serious would be a nice change though (This guy isn't as flexible as Smith).

I am not saying a live event isn't the way to go, it seems a little excessive. I probably wont go out of my way for it, I'll catch it online or if it's on TV while I am channel surfing (I live in Ireland) then I will catch it. Either way it will end up on the internet as soon as they reveal him.

I hope it does work, they need to turn the show around. Matt Smith is a brilliant actor.

I am not saying I lost faith in him, he just has to find his place again. Season 7 was all over the place.

I reckon it's a bit much to create a massive TV event for the next Doctor. Tennant and Smith got nothing of the sort when they started. I look forward to a trailer for the 50 anniversary if it is the rumored footage!

in terms of excitement: Superman/Batman

They've got me on board so far, looks awesome. The only thing that bugs me is the size of The Sentinels, I guess by the photos (color and age) they are early versions.

The Flash is my favorite DC character, I am not sure how I feel about this as it's The CW. Smallville got tired after Season 2 or 3 and Arrow is ok (just ok). I will check it out since it's The Flash and I hope they get it right!

Possibly, Matt Gattis would be interesting. He runs the show at Sherlock, although he is not Doctor Who's greatest writer he has proven himself as a good story planner.

I am not denying that, it was genuinely weak. I would like to see someone come in and bring the quality back to Season 4/5

Part of me kinda wants Moffat to finish with Smith, he's had a good run (admittedly the latest season wasn't great) but if all the stories are being wrapped up why not start fresh with a new show runner and maybe let Moffat go back to single stories? Single stories where his strongest episodes back in the day.
