That game is pretty as heck... I started on it and it's absolutely amazing but I have the stupid costum to start around 15 games at the same time. :P

I never played the original, but I guess they should've just left the IP alone after that game.

The graphics were good, but I thought that the art design wasn't very original. Then again, I played it quite late (2011) and the game aged quickly.

Have to add that I played the game quite late (2011) and that it aged very very fast, so maybe it's not entirely fair to dismiss the game entirely. That being said, I still hate the damn thing... :p

Reviews were pretty positive, but God this game was completely terrible. Generic, completely idiotic story in the not fun way, subpar controls, ugh... It was well presented, but that was literally all it had going for it... And that plot twist... That must have been the worst plot twist in a video game ever.

Rayman Legends, Tearaway, FFXV (Yes, it's a sequel, but a very innovative and interesting one.), Persona 4 Golden (Also a sequel. It's a year old and the best game ever IMO.) and Journey are all very good examples of original…
