There is a culture of collusion between boards of directors (often CEOs or former CEOs of other companies) and top management to make sure everyone gets lots of money COMPLETELY REGARDLESS of how the company performs. I assume it’s something more along the lines of “CEO’s have an important role in an organization, but are not worth 200x the average employees salary”.

We don’t need an ideal world, just a better one than what we have now. I imagine part of that involves restricting the pay of smarmy, gladhanding assholes who provide, what? Leadership, I guess.

I assume they try to haggle on the price after the work is done, so no competent tailors are willing to work with them. It’s really the only explanation for people with so much money to always look so rumpled and weird.
