Did anyone else notice that Ted actually wrote “TRY ANGELS!” on the last line?

Yeah, it’s hard for me to believe that someone on the Ted Lasso beat didn’t recognize one of the most obvious callouts in the show’s history.
* Keeley and Jack: I hate this whole relationship. Further, I hate how Keeley’s sexuality has been used over each season as a narrative engine rather than part of who she is. Keeley has been three different people over three different seasons, and while some might say that it’s someone going through personal change, I…
Yes, but a) it was pretty obvious already and b) it’s “spies,” and the plurality is at issue.
That’s a good point. They certainly did linger on her returning to the fleet for a noticeably long time. Maybe this is her master plan to eliminate Bo-Katan and be unrivaled at the top of the food chain.
Project Necromancer’s obvious endgame is Palpatine, but what’s most likely as the first product from it is Snoke. Remember in Rise of Skywalker how many proto-Snokes were marinating in the opening scenes when Kylo Ren is on his evil quest? This is probably Filoni’s way of trying to solve a bit of J.J. Abrams’ puzzle…
She is an absolute treasure. Her Disney+ series wasn’t the strongest entertainment ever created, but her characterization of Kamala was really a joy. And watching The Marvels trailer, I am definitely going to go pay full price at the theater almost exclusively because of her.
Paul Rudd is a goddamned national treasure.
“Grab ‘em by the Pisces.”
Yeah, but Ted Lasso is a different ambience than For All Mankind, no?
It would have been kinda cool to hear Wallace Shawn’s voice saying, “I have thpoken!”
I was just telling my family yesterday that one of the downsides of being in my fifties is that I’ve been aware of Donald Trump for four decades.
I thought the second half of the game was a bit cartoony - not that football matches haven’t historically descended into that kind of madness before, but that Richmond would have taken it to Wile E. Coyote levels of altercation. But there is certainly precedent in real life.
It was obvious - and glorious - that Jade had Nate’s number from day one. She sees right through him and was absolutely unimpressed. I would love love love it if Nate comes to his own epiphany about where he’s going and who he is, and in one of the final shots goes to ask Jade out and she acquiesces.
I think what was so great about this episode is that Quinta Brunson is a sketch comic herself and as such could hold her own on timing, delivery, and performance.
I can only hope that this is as good as The LEGO Movie in terms of a feature film that’s blatantly a marketing tool for a toy line.
I just hope the unedited/unexpurgated versions are still available somewhere, somehow, and they don’t go down the memory hole.
Agreed. I really hope they do more of these just plain weird sketches toward the end of the night. It brings a flavor of experimentalism to SNL that it has sorely lacked over the recent past.
Hugh Grant has never really been an upstanding guy over his history - it’s just that the times have changed and he hasn’t.
The “Wayne’s World” SNL skits and movies prominently featured Mike Myers and Dana Carvey using “Not!” as a way to subvert a statement, e.g., “That’s a really nice sweater you’re wearing... NOT!”
