I knew you (or Magus) would be the one to reply to that person.
I won't have a pop at you, you calmly explained what you did and didn't like about fighting games. I think one factor is, people tend to like to watch things that they like to play. Another thing is ease of play and available options; one reason I'm an advocate of slightly more simplistic fighting games. With…
Wow just wow. I love Avatar, both Legend of Korra and The Last Airbender. It's amazing how far gaming has come. Though I'm still more of a console guy, any game making it big is a step for other genres too.
Sad yet beautiful.
I was gonna say that! But I wanted to see if anyone said it first. LOL this comment should not be at the bottom!
I don't expect Nintendo to make Mario games have a deep story or make profound statements. That's not what those games are about. I think Nintendo maybe even recognizes the trope and just embraces it. What Nintendo IS good at is animating the characters in a very charming way and making cute and funny scenes with them.
I get the feeling that when people say "the game is too easy" They really mean, "it was hard enough that I died a BUNCH of times, but still beat it. But I want it to be hard enough that people I don't deem worthy can't beat it."
Now I wish I drank so I could get all of these references! >_<
And my mom wondered why I stayed indoors as a teen. SH*T us guys have to deal with croc attaks, shark attacks, friggin T-Rex's! You women are lucky! You ladies get to become rich. Damn the matriarchy is messed up!
I get what you're saying. I think the key is voicing your concerns without dismissing another's. Being direct if you have to. ie. "Yeah I agree this is an issue for women. I feel like this similarly impacts men."
I know just what you mean. I bought quite a few Xbox Live Arcade games in the early days of Xbox just because I didn't like that 0G sitting there. My goal was to get every achievement. Later some games made it SO hard to get all the achievements (ie. play online 10,000 times) that I realized this might not be…
Honestly it's not perspective so much as judgmental. Then again it's a video game. It's hard to make an adjustable character look "perfect" at all increments. Calling someone butch (publicly) is kinda insulting. I'm guessing from one post that you're a woman, but that doesn't mean you're exempt from manners. Sorry to…
This happens to me all the time in real life. Were you playing as the black character? Are YOU black? That might explain things.

PHEW... a few weeks ago someone pointed out to me that you could download the "Injustice" fighting game by going to the Costa Rican site. I went, and sure enough, it was free. However when I started to download it brought up my US account and asked me to pay, so I abandoned the task. Later someone told me that I…
[Insert blaming Patricia and insulting her journalistic ability. Proclaims Kotaku is turning into Jezebel and is not properly catering Caucasian males who are the heart and soul of videogaming.]
Darnit, I wanted to mention the Citizen Kane slow clap!
You know what, regarding Wolf you're right. He has enough different enough to not be considered a clone. He's just thematically similar like Ryu and Akuma from Street Fighter. Whereas Fox/Falco have a Ken/Ryu like similarity.
