It has to do with figuring out if they are lying or not, nothing to do with whether their actions were right or wrong. If they lied about slurs, they probably lied about the coach.

Yeah, I assume the police will question the players on both teams to see if any of them actually heard the slurs. If it was loud enough for a coach to hear it on the sideline surely the other team also heard it.

Well if the coach told them to do it he needs to see jail time and the kids should still be punished. However, I would have totally used the “coach told me to” excuse if I was in the same position as these kids. So I am torn because I think that these kids are probably lying and are going to end up ruining 2 grown…
