I work in the retail business of selling Macs (but not an Apple store), my thinking on this is they don’t offer an off the shelf SSD iMac cause of the audience who most often buys them. In my experience iMacs are sold mostly as a ‘Family’ computer, something everyone shares and loads it down with each family members…
