I want a 5-10 hour series made by Netflix. A movie would be to short to encompass the amazing awesomeness of this woman’s life.

My Dad was in The Fugitive and so were a whole bunch of his co-workers. So for several birthdays in a row (ages 8-11) if I had friends over we would have to watch The Fugitive. It is in retrospect hilarious. Have you seen Stranger Than Fiction? They never identify it as Chicago but probably my favorite Chicago movie.

Yup. Daley however was trying to get a whole mess of land on the south east side because he thought he would get the Olympics and just kick everyone out of those places.

Agreed. I did not like it at the time but it made a bolder woman who has no problems being myself. Most of the women I went to high school with would probably agree it helped them too. I’m trying to find it but there was study that found an all girls education during that time period was better for the girls but worse

God this is so true. Also love your username.

I feel like this person has never read A Tale of Two Cities. I’m not saying knitters are to be feared but please keep underestimating us silly girls with our silly hats.

Yes. Seriously white people need to know we POC know the signs of white men and women who are looking to fetishize us. If they want to go find a POC who is into that for some casual role play more power to them. But if the person actually wants to date someone from a different ethnicity take us out for dinner, buy us

Do it. It’s really nice to look back. There are some I might burn later. My Mom kept one later in life. Every day she would write down one really good thing that happened. She was a social worker who did not get out of the Midwest often either.

I always think back to the movie Date Movie. There is a joke in that movie where Willow from Buffy is asking how she is going to find a Jewish black Greek man to marry. And literally every man in the restaurant turns around and waves hello. And fairly positive for that shitty joke they may have searched and found a

I was hoping someone would notice that. I actually laughed aloud. 10 years, 10 years of being criticized. Seriously that is the most sad white man statement ever.

I had a professor share this website in class.

It was less than a year after my Mom’s death and I had a very vivid dream about her. In dream I woke up in my parent’s home, I thought I had overslept because it seemed sunny out. I walk out into our kitchen looking for my Mom. I worked part time because she usually needed someone home with her even before she was on

I remember seeing this now three years ago and feeling like yeah this makes sense. Divide it on the county level. A few family members moved out of my county, they claim corruption but really they are racist and classist.

Preaching the message of this ear protection product, it takes the noise down but does not ruin live shows.

Is your FIL living with you? Is he in bad health? We got my Grandma a little Shih Tzu when she was 83. My Grandma was in okay health. The dog was a rescue adult and adored my Grandma. Except for a hospital visit my Grandma was with her all the time. Besides being a companion the dog got my Grandma out of the house and

I recently met a guy who grew up in Maxwell Street. We bonded over being born and raised city kids. We were chatting about how the near south side is insane in how much it grew. Also how you can always tell most newcomers from those born and raised especially when you get on public transit.

I think it is a lot more newer people to the city in most of the neighborhoods, and they like someone up thread said they get their stories out there. And there is this myth of the lonely city dweller that people seem to think that we don’t know our neighbors. Like suburbanites only know their neighbors or some

You have the voice down pat.   Also I hope you are not eating lunch.

Born and raised. If you come here get over to the Chicago Cultural Center on Randolph and Michigan. Its beautiful and really lovely. They have tons of information about the city and the building is just gorgeous.

A million stars to this comment. Also anytime I hear West Town I am  reminded how Cabrini was rebranded as East Village.
