Anyone looking to buy a 3-row/ 7 seat crossover is too busy to care about how “anonymous” their car looks. They’re buying it because it’s the opposite of useless, and they don’t have the time or inclination to screw around with something less reliable as their primary form of transportation.

These already exist to some extent. They are called “loss leaders.” The lowest end pickups are generally sold near cost or below, to advertise that you can buy a truck for $25,000, just not the truck you want.
