It looks like many of Ron’s craigslist listings have been flagged for removal since this article.

When his “collection” becomes a nuisance for his neighbors, his neighbors deserve the support of the local government in enjoying their own property. It looks like they live adjacent to a junk yard. I want to be able to have a collection like Jay Leno, but this is not that.

Mom’s first car was a Porsche 914. It caught fire in my grandfather’s garage when the leaky battery corroded a fuel line. Apparently this wasn’t uncommon with early 914s? I’m told it was an awful car for Phoenix, AZ.

I loved the Pontiac Solstice, but that automatic transmission... it was like that attractive girl in high school who wasn’t afraid to be your friend; but she never had any interest in being anything more. The automatic Solstice was the “friendzoner” of cars, the “slowzoner” if you will.

The Escalade, as recently as 2014, was still a very obviously rebadged Tahoe/Yukon.

While driving 70mph down the freeway the gauges of my 2004 Pontiac Sunfire would “reset”, all needles, lights and indicators would shut off and return without any other indication of error in a matter of seconds. I bet you’ve got an onion in your belt.

The distinction that keeps coming to my mind is: the linked video and those sunroofs are monolithic pieces. A windshield would have to have separate zones that do and do not turn opaque.

Yes, On-Star is very much a system that acts in the way As Du Volant suggested. The advantage of On-Star is false triggers can be addressed without sending a helicopter to investigate. But, the suggestion was for the middle of the wilderness; maybe those people traveling in such extreme wilderness should be packing

My 2004 Sunfire had a “sealed” transmission too. I guess you would do fluid changes through the pan? Like the old Tropicana orange juice commercials.

What? Really? The auto industry.

I believe I’ve seen cars that monitor the brake fluid level. My wife’s 2011 Mini has brake pad sensors. I should get my headlight fluid changed.

Only winners get sprinkles.

Driver Information Center (DIC), where the digital odometer is, and so much more these days.

GMs newer Stabilitrak systems include rollover mitigation and trailer management.

Minor.
