The triple negative in the title is a nightmare to parse as well...

My biggest issue with the Expended Universe was always that Star Wars just did not seem to work when the roles of the Rebels and Empire were reverse. Making the Empire the scrappy underdog required some ridiculous hoops to be jumped through to make them at all threatening, whether it be Thrawn’s weird “I can make war

and rushed it

She was honestly just as bad about hating everything though... She may have given reasons, but she was the start of io9's constant negativity.

This is io9. This is what Katherine Trendacosta does. It is beyond old. Seriously, if you hate everything you write about, find a new job.

So she’s the next Lindsey Stirling?

He didn’t. That was made clear in the extended edition. As for how? I have no idea... Maybe Snyder understand the strength of sandstone walls in the same way that J.J. Abrams understand the size of outer space?

It’s about story context and the media in which it is presented. Zany sci-fi works in comics, but not so much in the movies. You have to consider that the few times that Superman did goofy sci-fi things in the movies, it is generally mocked by the public: the turning back time to save Lois bit, the cellophane body

This is the biggest cop-out excuse ever. Why can’t things happen beyond Superman’s control? It just makes sense that there be no deus ex machina magic jail to hold Zod in and no legitimate way to defeat him without killing him (as, I might add again, has happened a few times before in the comics!!!). It would be

Who cares? This was an incredibly benign gimmick that didn’t require any special cables or media to make work, an incredibly rare pay-once option in the industry. People get their panties in such a bunch over this when it is literally nothing when compared to something like 3d that required a special tv, player,

Oh for... 1 - SUPERMAN IS NOT THE MURDERER EVERYBODY CLAIMS HIM TO BE!!! Yes, he killed Zod... Just like he did multiple times in the comics, because there was no other choice in the matter. There was no stupid deus ex machina for him, no convenient way for him to beat Zod and toss him into super-jail forever. His

I hate the prequels. That said, I love when the new canon ties back to the prequels and makes them more interesting for me and overall very central to the lore.

Unless the Masters of Customer Service suddenly got taken over by, well, any other retail company, there is something seriously fishy about this story. I get the feeling that we’re not hearing the whole story here if freaking Amazon is denying returns.

It’s not arbitrary though. Lucas’s explanation makes complete sense... Obi-Wan even said it himself in the story, Anakin Skywalker died on Mustafar and Darth Vader took his place. His five minutes of redemption didn’t change that fact. It’s similar to a coma patient waking up after 20 years... it’s not as if they’re

Why the hell do people care so much about Sebastian Shaw as Anakin? He was just some random overly-kindly looking old guy who appeared from nowhere to say 24 words of dialogue before dying. The role should have gone to David Prowse, if anybody, back then.

Is it one of those scam for-profit places?

Yeah... I liked BvS so much more than I liked the bland and without-consequence Civil War...

As a student there... I know exactly what you mean.

Megamind was such a better movie... So of course that one doesn’t get a sequel while this is on its 4th in the series... Sheesh.

To be fair, JJ Abrams does some amazing commentaries. Abrams, Joss Whedon, and Peter Jackson have done some of the most informative and entertaining commentaries I’ve ever listened to.
