If you have to prep your athletes the same way you prep your disaster relief squads, then perhaps that’s a bad sign

I’m not one to advocate mob justice willy-nilly, but this feels like one of those issues where the police won’t help but the community could sort itself out. Some internet based attacks or social engineering attempts to bring the site down coupled with an axe through the door.

As a european, the violence that flies below the radar in the NHL is astounding at times, though it appears to have gotten better with game misconducts for spearing and checking to the head and whatnot.

But I’m still positively baffled that you’re almost fully allowed to fistfight someone on the ice. That’s not

Nice. More hockey on deadspin, please.

Also, this form of behaviour absolutely ridiculous. There’s an excess of violence in hockey (particularly NHL), and it all feels so pointless.

Players fighting each other have nothing on the ice to do. Players actively trying to damage each other, like this fellow, has nothing in

So, it’s going to be a great day for doing crime in the areas a little bit away from the super bowl thingy, then? Nice.

And you win by dyeing a lot.

On the one hand, I understand it. It’s unfamiliar terrain, perhaps people aren’t driving with winter tyres, the ploughing routines might not be enough to handle the snow etc. Better not drive, than drive unsafely.

On the oooooother hand, I live in a country where the current NYC weather is our normal winter weather

Cute. That’s pretty much the southernmost part of my country for 3-4 months a year. Heeeeh.

Oh damn. Sad that he’s leaving, but confident that the teams are still in good hands, hopeful he’ll go somewhere he thrives.

...expialidocious?

Nah. It really doesn’t. That’s factually incorrect.

Oh come on, you just can’t be a doctor with the name Charlie Sly.

Sweet assault charges.

Police were about to arrest the suspect, before they were reminded by Waffle House management that the customer is always right.

I really like how the threat of terrorist attacks by non-US citizens, which is pretty much nonexistent both historically and today, is a bigger deal than the very actual terror caused by unruly police.

So what they’re saying is that off-duty cops are like cops except drunk.

Shouldn’t this, then, be illegal? As in “assault”, not “illegal play”. It occurred on a field, but it seems it didn’t occur within the confines of the game.

Desensitizing and normalization, I think, shouldn’t be taken to mean “you will play one game then commit atrocities”. Rather a slow, gradual shift of acceptance, individual and cultural, towards certain things (like committing crimes or hurting others).

I hope he didn’t build the diorama in his room, ‘cause then he’d have to build a 1/6 scale diorama in his 1/6 scale diorama, featuring a 1/6 scale diorama ...

When some hockey news finally show up amidst all the footballs and hand-footballs and baseballs and basketballs, it’s unavailable in my country.

Gah.
