When I was a young teen, I was molested in a similar way by a family member. I was NOT asleep, although I pretended to be because I was afraid to fight back. I’m willing to bet money that those girls did the same thing.

How could one *sleep* through being fondled? More likely they kept their eyes shut tight out of fear and pretended to be asleep, also out of fear.
i’m willing to bet they weren’t asleep, they just froze and played asleep. how do i know? this shit happens to a lot of little girls. ask me about my insomnia and then check in with these girls a few years from now - no zzzs or on drugs to sleep.
Apparently they also lied a lot about what Josh actually did. Saying things like he only ever touched the girls over their clothes, in their sleep,* when the police report says otherwise.
Freedom of expression unless you’re black.
Ugh. But she was being so bl...loud.
The family wasn't "loudly cheering for 5 seconds." They hollered out a name.
It’s a little rude and can be disruptive, but I’ve been to an annoyingly large amount of graduations and literally no one ever listens to that request. I’m sure the majority of administrators know it’s going to be ignored (apparently not this guy though, apparently he’s a huge asshole).
Yep. Thanks for confirming my gut feeling. I highly suspected “boisterous” was code for “black people expressing themselves in public in a way I don’t like.” Nobody is going to arrest a white middle class mom for clapping at her kid’s graduation.
This is a great opinion piece on the whole affair. From the article:
wut? at my graduation, my friend’s family let go about 10 balloons so they made that fart noise. It was the best.
He WILL have order at these ceremonies. Unless it’s a white family. Cheer away.
Since Mississippi has one of the worst post secondary education rates, anyone who is poor, black or female and is able to graduate, should be cheered non-stop.
Nuclear retaliation with the arrest warrant.
Cheering can be rude in that it can drown out the name of the following person and/or slow down an already too long graduation. That said:
embarrassing cheering is literally the most important part of graduation ceremonies.
I’m the same age as Elizabeth and her story, since she was missing to when she was found and beyond, has always stayed with me. Primarily how she schooled Nancy Grace during an interview, and how she talked about how her school and church’s teachings of purity negatively impacted her after she returned home.…
Jesus christ. I just...like...who wrote up this sign and was like, “Ah, this is good. This is an accurate and respectful and totally legal sign that will cause no problems and is totally fine to post in public. Good job, me!”? How dumb and/or racist do you have to be to write this bullshit?
“You guyssssss, I just dropped four hits of acid and had a revelation about gender politics that will blow your fragile little minds!"
