Sadly, most of the comments I've read about this story and other victims show that Ms. Tarshis' fears were not unfounded. I imagine it would have been 1000x worse 20 years ago when Cosby was at the height of his fame and power.

Two-dad family here. One of my sons wrote that he was thankful to have two dads because, you know, if one of us died he'd have a spare.
Yes, yes, there were. There absolutely were obese people years ago. Not as many, but they existed. Obesity was not invented in the 1990s.
Her unused explanations:
One would think that a 2-year-old with an STD would be a slam-dunk of a conviction...
Well, personally, I think the systemic discrimination why we have the war on drugs. But the fact that drug charges are easier to convict probably has something to do with discrimination, yes, but moreso because it is easier to set up a sting on a drug charge than, say, a rape charge. The evidence is also objectively…
Yeah it's funny how drug charges are easy to convict and sexual assault isn't. Not that there's any systemic discrimination behind that or anything. Nah!
This is abhorrent, bordering on downright evil. The part about the two year old made my heart palpitate. I feel like vomiting after reading this.
I'm going to find a way to clone fictional characters, then I am going to clone enough Olivia Bensons to staff every SVU.
Well the article didn't specify what she was wearing, so we can't be certain she fits all the criteria for the Perfect Rape Victimâ„¢.
/caustic sarcasm
Welcome to big city police departments. Unless its murder, the cops rarely lift a finger if it involves difficult police work.
Wasnt it Detroit that had a standing log of 30,000 sexual assualt kits that were never even investigated. What did I hear that on NPR?
This is someone who was hanging out at a trendy, crowded place, it was caught on video, and she went straight to the police, once she figured out what happened. She did everything that every asshole who responds with "BUT DID SHE DO THIS" after hearing a rape account asks about. And she still hasn't seen justice.
Maybe we need a ripped from the headlines show displaying police officers that ignore evidence (a toddler with an STD!) and go back to playing Angry Birds.
And people actually wonder why sex crimes are underreported
Yeah. How inconsiderate and obstinate of that toddler still mastering language to not have the vocabulary to direct the investigation of their sexual assault. That poor baby.
Wow they should take a page from Law and Order: SVU. They're able to get sex crimes investigated, tried, and all wrapped up in what seems like just a matter of days. (This is sarcasm; don't yell at me).
I was pissed off until I got to the toddler bit, and now I reckon I could actually kill someone.
