Cool story
At NYCC, Patrick Rothfuss told a story about being on a subway and seeing a dad with three kids, and the three kids were running absolutely wild and uncontrolled. Being a reasonable human and father himself, he went to chat with the dad (rather than heckling). He found out the man's wife/kids' mom had died very…
While I do agree that having some random tell me what to do with my kid would leave me pretty steaming, the punishment for that action should not be a physical smack down. So I don't like what anyone did, but I REALLY don't like what the mom did. And it kind of makes me wonder if there's more to this than just a…
Well I was going off of this blog post in which they just said "tantrum" and not "running amok destroying displays". If a kid is just having a crying meltdown there's often not much you can do except remove them. And while obviously everyone would prefer that to happen ASAP, I know that sometimes it's just better to…
I'm gonna guess that the mom had finally worked her way up to the front of a ridiculously long line to get to the register and was not about to give up her spot to take her kid outside.
First off, team no one.
Yeah, no. I used to work retail, and there are a surprisingly large number of soccer moms who apparently have no problem letting their children run amok in the store, knocking into other shoppers, sales reps and clothing displays. We had two boys under age 10 actually knock a heavy ass mannequin off a table taller…
I don't love any of these characters either, but if I'm honest the justice scales definitely tip in the punching victim's favor because she's the victim of being physically assaulted. Telling someone to calm their child and then escalating it to a "go to hell" is still many levels removed from physical assault.
Haha you think I'm going to go outside into the 30 degree midwest weather because of your precious ears? Hilarious. My son doesn't have tantrums so it's irrelevant.
I dunno. I see parents all the time ignoring their child's bad behavior and tantrums and I disagree that there's nothing to be done. As a parent, I have snatched my kids up and taken them home when they misbehaved in a store. Do this once or twice and the behavior stops because kids love to be out and about. Some…
She could remove the child from the building until it calmed down. Like most parents would do. Like my parents did with me at restaurants so my tantrum would not cause other people undue distress.
Ugh I'm so torn here. Obviously it is never ok to punch another person in the face because of a disagreement.
"He remains on paid leave while under house arrest on $609,000 bail and still maintains his innocence, and his family (who runs the "Justice for Daniel Holtzclaw" Facebook page) believes there's some "ulterior motive" behind the accusations"
Baltimore Ravens: "The 15 year-old boy deeply regrets the role he played during the incidents."
Um, actually it's not about his penis. It's about ethics in journalism.
"I better hurry and tell all the ladies in the world what my penis thinks of them, so they can base their self-worth around it! You're welcome, ladies."
Creepier and creepier! More and more disgusting! This guy has all the earmarks of a Ted Bundy waiting to happen, so I'm relieved that there's these 9 allegations piling up and he won't be able to hide behind "jilted ex-girlfriends be lying" anymore.
It is but you'll have a damn hard time convincing a prosecutor to go forward with the case—that's if you can even get a cop to bother taking a report.
I appreciate these women speaking up, particularly the ones placing their own names with their stories. What happened to them is terrible and scary, but they are making it possible for others to speak.
Thank you! As a feminist, straight male an a domestic violence victim (ex wife), I am constantly facing down the idea that only I and other cis males are capable of rape, assault, abuse, and intimidation.
