2009 was a let down compared to the rest of the series. and that’s being nice. I didn’t HATE it overall, it just didn’t feel like a Wolfenstein game.

I play through Doom 1 and 2 every few years, with 4 right around the corner, I figured now’s a great time to go back and play them again.

same here. I have a few games where I have to play every so often, Doom and Doom 2 are on that list (2 moreso because it’s generally much harder).

If I was gonna compare this to any Souls-like game, I’d actually compare the combat closer to that of Bloodborne, you even seem to have what looks like a quickstep. That said, I’ll have to keep an eye on this game.

Agreed. You’d think the game was Mortal Kombat Advance or something with the way some people talk about it. It’s not perfect (still to many problems with the servers, the aforementioned RQ problem, etc), but far from what you’d assume from seeing “reports”.

if you gotta do something in the middle of a 2-3 minute match, then let it sit and go do what you’re gonna do, why ruin the other person’s experience?

Trying to appeal to EVERYONE is a recipe for disaster. May as well go with the ones that appreciate the game for what it is. The ones that bought the additions and continued buying SFIV with every version that came out.

it definitely does, because the hardcore are the ones that’ll still be playing it years from now. Casuals will play for a month, get destroyed online, then give up and move on to whatever the next big thing is.

The fighting itself is really REALLY good. I have no doubt everything around it will improve, but they should have known the betas were only a small sample size of the millions of people that would try to log on day 1.

I think you can’t be looked up unless you play a ranked match, win or lose.
