They still haven't released any patches for the game either, months after release.. so they rushed it, and didn't even give follow-up support. Bioware has gone to shit.

I agree, but in this instance I think you can explain it something like, advanced aliens visit planet, beast-like creatures on the planet brain-stab them and take control of their bodies, gain all their knowledge, steal the ship, etc etc

haven't read the book but that scene was pretty good and made me care more about him, up until then we really had no idea what he was like at all
