Is this real? Holy shit. I don't know whether that is amazingly cool or downright scary

It irritates me. I know it's petty that that is the case, but that doesn't change the fact. Someone picking their nose sitting next to me on the tram doesn't actually affect me either, nor is it my business, but it's irritating.

What sort of aircraft where you instructing people on?

I wonder if we are all wrong about the F-35 and that it won't eventually come good. I've got heaps of old magazines from the 70s and 80s with scathing criticism of the A-10 (and the SU-25) with pages upon pages of analysis from aviation writers at the time saying how much of a death trap a comparitively low tech, slow

Well the weapons they where using didn't help. They where using cluster bomb packs which meant flying directly over a well defended runway to lay the bomblets making them a sitting target for any low range AA. These days you would use guided weapons to hit the AA first. Sure an A-10 would survive any 12.7 and 23mm

For me, it's the unnecessary vanity. It's showing off your family like it's a sort of special achievement that humans haven't been able to do for millions of years. Until this story I thought it was something we only had in Australia so I'm sorry to hear it's stateside. I wouldn't mind as much if people who were

The pilots on ours where sitting on seats (it was built in 1993) but they let people come up and look over their shoulders. Love the sound of that big 1000hp shvetsov radial

Oh man, An-2 with rockets. I've got a soft spot for the An-2 as a couple of airline pilots here in Aus own a big yellow one and fly it on weekends. My gf won some points by buying me a flight and I'm pretty sure we were off the ground in about 50m.

They stole their music from British Pathe

My brother and his mate were off roading in a Range Rover (MY2000, bought for 4 grand) without really knowing what they where doing and they got stuck in mud. Pulled out by a Sierra (Samurai here).

Aussie lingo. The term "Shitting myself" can be used for any reasonably concerning event.

I stand (I think) corrected. I got the impression because I saw a Youtube video of a lecture given at red flag talking about the F-22 vs the IAF SU-30MKIs in turning fights and the guy giving the lecture mentioned that they had some older IAF guys up at red flag Alaska flying the Mig-21s, and he talked about them

Kerc, here in Australia the new Mirage seems to be selling pretty well given the amount I see on the road, (although 9/10 I see are in that violet metallic pink). As basic transport, and all the points you mentioned above, they seem to rock and would meet my personal transport needs perfectly if I had to have a new

Cultural if not necessarily military or diplomatic. During Desert storm Iraqi pilots sometimes landed their planes in Iran and (I forget which is which) given Iraq has many Sunnis and Shias, and one of those groups is the majority religion in Iran (possibly Shia) despite the fact that they fought a bloody 8 year war

Interestingly enough the Indian Air Force flies an upgraded variant of the Mig-21 which has a radar from an F-16 (not sure if an early or later radar though). Supposedly they are very capable.

30 secs in, mandatory (and yes I know its Pakistan and not iraq rah rah rah)

From Eric 'Winkle' Browns Wings of The Weird and Wonderful: " Probably the most extraordinary looking aeroplane I have ever flown was the Bv.141B. I cam across it quite by chance in the chaos of the immediate post-war Germany when R.A.E test pilots and scientists roamed the country looking for our opposite numbers to

I'm an Australian and I veto this ad for the self absorbed douchebag portrayed within. As for manual 2 series here, you can (apparently - only evidence I have to go by is one line in a review in MOTOR magazine) get one if you ask really nicely but when I checked a few weeks ago there was no manual transmission option

Be honest with yourself, what is going on in Syria has absolutely fuck all to do with the US. You guys need to stop getting worked up whenever someone from a completely different culture thousands of miles does something you wouldn't. If you play world policeman forever then all the world will look to you for help

Super left comment, but soooo incredibly right. You've basically summed up any conflict perfectly and shown it to be bullshit.
