As someone who works with ferals daily, and has adopted a few, I'll say that feral cats often have to defend themselves against ignorant humans. I have four former ferals and they are quite well adjusted and not territorial at all.

I saw this happen in my family when my grandmother needed care. There was this expectation, undiscussed, that the daughters would be the primary care givers. The daughters who worked full-time jobs, had their own families and were divorced.

Unless your second grader has a job she isn't paying for anything, but rather you GIVE her the money to pay for lunch. Perhaps you could explain what EMPATHY and judging others means instead of going on some unfounded tangent that promotes your biased and ignorant agenda.

I had a woman come up to me at a store who petted my hair. I slowly turned around hoping this was someone I knew, but nope she was a stranger. She smiled and said she saw me and so wanted to touch my hair.

I got my Masters while working two jobs, doing my own home repairs, and volunteering. There was an entire year where I literally did NOT have a day off from work, or school, or my part-time job.

I'm gearing up to apply to PhD programs in Psychology and this kind of crap just amazes me. Of all the fields of study I expect someone with a PhD in psychology to have a clue about their actions and words.

I can't speak for other schools, but my dojo stressed repetition so that you aren't thinking, but rather acting when forced to defend yourself.

Are there any dental schools in your area? During my undergrad/very broke years I got a lot done at my local dental school. The work as so good that decades later my now dentist still admires it.
