My heart has grown in size for Octavia Spencer yet again. The more I learn about her, the more I love her.

Yes, this is how I imagine my cats would act. If the food is late, or even seems like it might be late, there would be loud meows that would alert the neighbors and thus save me.
I noticed this with two covers, but having it pointed out cover after cover makes me sad, and angry. So angry that I'm no longer buying/reading Vanity "Fair".
I don't care what Cicely Tyson wore to the SAGs. Miss Jane Pittman could have rocked a hefty bag and she would still rock. Ditty for Glenn Close's dress.
I had a close friend for decades. After a particularly nasty comment from her I decided to just let the friendship die slowly.
Thank you for confirming that I wasn't being over sensitive.
Yes, that's exactly what I thought. And I don't see ethnicity in every situation, but I'm sensitive to this question having been asked this a LOT.
It doesn't just happen with friends of the opposite sex. A bestie of 30 years is white and I'm black, we were ALWAYS asked HOW we knew each other. ALWAYS. Same thing with my white male friends, especially from their family members.
Very well said.
I heart you for sharing that. I needed that this Monday morning.
I dislike that she had to qualify her relationship with Josh. That's the first question, which makes me wonder if other people are asked first HOW they know each other.
As an "older woman" in her 40s I don't find being in either age group as being late for anything. Bethany is a role model for me of what not to be as a person.
That really is the best crap email ever. Congrats.
I hate working in groups and group projects for class. (Which I clearly mention to every professor who assigns a group project.) It's enough drama with the usual group issues - someone doesn't do any work, someone is controlling of what others do, someone has anxiety and wants to finish the project a month early. …
You are brilliant!

Guppy, have fun, pace yourself drinking, eat at Coop's (not to worry I don't get paid for saying that), and enjoy the locals!
Best use of that saying I've heard thus far.
Now I'm wishing I did a "Sh*t People From New Orleans Say". I've been in Austin for 11 years and I still "make groceries" and ask "how ya momma an n'em?".
But the baby is named Sophia? She's going to be a super hero and thus needs a name with a jolt, like Electra.
