Oh I wanted to add that a high-quality education is not readily available to low-income students, even those whose parents go out of their way to seek it (see: "The Lottery" documentary), so you cannot argue that education is the great equalizer.
Try looking at it this way. These workers are actually NOT sitting around complaining about their lives, they are actively improving their conditions and taking responsibility for themselves by organizing unions. The U.S. has a rich history of labor organizing, and unions are much of the reason previous generations…

There is a basis in this case - When Guttmacher was founded in 1968 it was part of the corporate structure of PP. Later it became its own entity but remained a "special affiliate" of PP and received some funding from them until 2007, after which they were totally independent of each other.
