It makes me think of people who are anti-hunting because they say it is cruel. Man, watch a leopard seal play with a penguin before and after killing it, or a pack of lions just start eating a zebra while it's still alive and you think 'a nice clean bullet doesn't seem so bad.'

I think for me, it's gotten past public persona- I just can't suspend disbelief. Like many others, all I see is nutjob Tom Cruise. I expect his characters to start handing out copies of "Dianetics" to the other characters.

I'm getting dizzy thinking about it. A FUCKING MOON BASE!!!

Yeah, but Gingrich is so nauseatingly full of himself, I can't must much sympathy.

I loved watching "The Ten Commandments" every year as a kid, but lost interest when Anubis didn't revive Pharoah's son. Yul Brynner was 1,000 times cooler than smug Charleton Heston and got the hot chick, too.

I read it right after W got reelected and yeah, it felt a bit too much like what was happening around me.

There are certainly SF novelists who are deemed to be 'right wing,' from Heinlein to Larry Niven to Orson Scott Card, but I agree that it's generally a liberal genre.

Awesome novel, brilliant novelist.

Now that makes sense- it's a comedy.

My sentiments exactly. Good luck!

How will using Rush Limbaugh help to find a sasquatch?

Yeah, crappy effect- 'the Blob,' but made out of roiling dead humans instead of gelatinous goop.

The following will be extinct: tigers, rhinos, elephants, bears, sharks.

My initial comment, ibid.

It's really third party greed. Tolkien feared saddling his kids with a large inheritance tax, so he sold the movie rights to "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" to United Artists. UA sold them to Saul Zaentz, who is aggressive in squeezing every penny out of licenses and bullying people who are doing what
