It’s a perfect opportunity (how often do you go into a debate knowing exactly what your opponent wants to talk about) to do something he needs to do and nobody on his side wants him to do it.

A bunch of comments on here are like “Bernie’s policy is good but this is TREASONOUS and shall NOT stand.” Even though this (an opportunity for Biden to earn support from the left and use that to solidify the party against Trump in the general election) is exactly what they should want.

The group that voted for bernie will not jump over to joe, based on their belief that sanders is getting screwed again, and Biden can’t win without them.

He’s going to need support from everyone to win in November. That includes the left. If you know that left voters are currently cold on Biden, shouldn’t he take the opportunity to get them on his side? That’s going to be easier to do now than in the fall.
