God, I love your writing. I’m just going to bow out of the discussion because your comment should be the final word. Because it’s beautiful.

When what people seem to have loved about the episode is literally a list of Easter Eggs, that just strikes me as a bug, not a feature.

as with most things related to PC gaming, your mileage may vary.

Here’s the thing — they could have provided all the fan service that entertained the core audience and still told a coherent story. If they want to do an episode that’s all about exploring Earth-2, just send them there by accident.

You know me to be a reasonable person.

Touche.

9. Villain romances.

Now playing

XCOM 2 Bebop. I’m not sure why ion bomb decided to mash-up XCOM 2 and sci-fi anime classic Cowboy Bebop, but you know what? It works weirdly well. (Warning: this video will give you glimpses of a few later-game alien types. Also “Tank” will be stuck in your head forever.)

Why didn’t they just take Savage after Rip slit his throat, wait for him to heal then have that hawk lady (don’t remember her name) stab him? He’s down, even if they couldn’t kill him they could try containment. Can’t rule the world if they throw him in a cell & throw away the key.

Being an adult just means your closer to death than you were before. So actually enjoying yourself should be in a decent position on a list of priorities.

See, here’s the beauty of things. I -hated- Parks and Rec, just like I absolutely loathed 30 Rock. Now, according to the above, these are some ‘great examples’ of comedy. I would turn either one of them off to go watch reruns of M.A.S.H. 10 times out of 10.

Great point. Joke Slayer sounds a little fancier than “Buzz Killington” :)

It’s a great reflection on today’s society, or at least the world of the show, that THE DEVIL can walk around in public, not hiding who he is (within reason... his real face is a appropriately frightening). The fun part comes from the fact that NO ONE believes him, which just makes it more delicious for him.

I don’t think that’s a threat so much as a fact. Long time lovers of the site are naturally going to be turned off by the idea that something we’ve come to expect and enjoy is being done away with. I’m sure the situation was discussed at length and the decision arrived at with careful consideration.

I agree completely. Less recaps means less of me (though that may not necessarily be a threat).

While I love the writing as usual, I’ve got to lend my voice to the group expressing disappointment with the slow phasing out of TV recaps. They’ve been a cornerstone of IO9 for a long, long time. They’re a big part of the reason why so many of us started coming to the site. I’m not against the merger, but when it

This is why I thought his unceremonious death in “Executive Decision” was so hilarious. The damn movie has his name in big giant letters all over it and he gets like three minutes of screen time before he gets whacked.

Yeah. A big part of the appeal of the early Die Hards is the sheer amount of hell he has to fight through. The broken glass/bare feet scene in the first one still get me.

Sara killed it this episode. Her character is SO much fun now that she is freed from her Ollie/Laurel/League of Assassins past and drama.

True.
