I’ve worked for two very large corporations. The one I started at was pretty good at avoiding empty buzzwords and the culture was one where people wanted to get things done and took pride in their work. The downside was that the pay wasn’t great and they demanded an unrealistic level of dedication.

If expecting businesses that I patronize to live up to what they’ve promised me makes me an asshole, guilty as charged.

It's a weird 24-hour period for Chocago baseball when Sale and Arrieta combine to give up 10 earned runs in 8 1/3 innings. At least Arrieta has teammates to help him out on his rare bad day.

I don’t get how anyone listens to Francesa, but I do understand why people look down on sports talk radio if he’s what they imagine when they think of sports radio.

So let me preface this by saying that I 100% believe what scientists tell me about what has happened and is currently happening in regards to the global temperature.

And unless they win the next 3 games, the only banner they’ll be raising is “most regular season wins ever.” Which is an accomplishment in itself, I guess, but if you want to make the argument that you're the best team ever, you kinda need to make it out of the conference finals.

I was suspicious as soon as the article started talking about dangerous chemicals. As the link you posted points out, zinc and titanium aren’t exactly things you’d want to ingest either but they’re okay because they’re more “natural,” I guess?

Regarding restaurants: I don’t really care if they have the vibrating pagers or just call out names, but you know what really infuriates me? Making a reservation, showing up on time/slightly early for the reservation, and having to wait to be seated. I would rather wait an hour at a restaurant that doesn’t take

Yup. I hate the NCAA and I think athletes who are essentially on a career path to the pros and have no interest in academics shouldn’t have to participate in the sham (and should be getting paid for their work instead).

Yeah. It’s interesting that for all of the hand-wringing about head injuries in football, at least the players are choosing to play and are increasingly informed of the risks. It is also much, much rarer for a football player to suffer an immediately life-altering injury or death on the field than it is for a

I just don’t want to look in the mirror one day and feel like I look tired and old, so I gotta start now if I want to prevent that from happening.

Yeah, I thought it was weird for the article to call that out. I can go on Spotrac and see what the players make. Compensation isn't a private thing for pro athletes. (Now, obviously the disclosure of addresses and SSNs is a big deal).

Mickelson is the exact type of guy I am least sympathetic to when it comes to bitching about taxes. He makes millions and millions of dollars from playing a sport (and one where he doesn’t have to risk traumatic injury at that). Can’t he just be happy with that?

Yup. I'm generally against anything that millennials are doing, but I don't see what the big deal is about dick pics IF the recipient wants to receive them. Unsolicited dick pics are obviously very not cool.

I have never understood why an expired license is not accepted for identification purposes. You do not stop being the person you were when you were issued the then-valid license because of an expiration date. (Not arguing with your point - you're right that you need a valid one. I just don't understand the logic).

Attending someone else’s graduation ceremony is always hellish. At least at your own you are mildly interested in what’s going on.

Except that a young, talented NFL QB really is that special. There are only a handful of guys in the world at any given time capable of being great NFL QBs, the dropoff from great to mediocre is pretty steep, and teams that don’t have a good-to-great one spend an insane amount of resources trying to find one.

When did we become such a dumb society that we started wasting all of our time demanding that people apologize for and condemn actions that they had nothing to do with?

Let me preface this by saying that I will vote for Hillary in November because I will always pick the lesser of two evils, because I have a functioning brain.

The point is that the Sanders campaign not only tolerates this behavior but quietly encourages it.
