In Wisconsin they're terrible about not salting/deicing the roads in advance of snow. They actually announce that they'll start plowing as soon as the snow ends. The result is that completely normal and ordinary amounts of snow make driving needlessly awful around here. This is Wisconsin; 3 inches in January should be

I virtually never order delivery, because I’d rather save the money and get my food faster by picking it up myself, so this doesn’t really affect me either way.

So if you had really, really terrible service, you’d still tip 20%? Then I think you’re a sucker.

Yeah, I take issue with the flippant attitude of “it was only an inch.” An inch of snow isn’t shit if the roads have been treated or if ice doesn’t accumulate...but if it’s allowed to just sit there and make things slippery, it’s a big deal.

Way late on this, but how much of that is due to the fact that in really bad weather, there are proportionally more trucks on the road than cars as people who don’t have to venture out stay home?

Generally if it’s that bad out, I’m staying out of the left lane anyway unless I come upon someone really crawling, because the right lane is usually better plowed.

In my experience, the bigger and more obnoxious the vehicle, the more likely you'll see it in the ditch. I've seen way more jacked-up pickups than Subarus (but yeah, 4WD vehicles way outnumber 2WD vehicles sliding off the road from what I see. It's almost like those of us who don't have 4WD understand that you need to

Oh God, another East Coast blizzard? I guess I know what all news outlets will be breathlessly reporting on for the next week.

I’m with you 100%. I admit I’m (silently) judgmental regarding people who read bad books (50 Shades of Gray, Twilight, etc), if someone proudly proclaims that they don't read at all, I instantly know they're not worth talking to.

Yup. Older kids, too, if they are running around and screaming. My dog likes socialization or we wouldn’t be at the dog park, but he gets nervous when loud, unpredictable children are running around.

NFL-caliber athletes neither want to do the work to make use of that education, nor in most cases are they even intellectually capable of making use of it anyway.

One thing people forget to factor in to the renting vs buying debate is that renting saves you money if you rent something smaller and cheaper than what you would buy. This is especially true for young adults.

I'm just glad that if Green Bay was going to connect on another Hail Mary this season, at least this time they deserved it and the game shouldn't have ended on the previous play.

I don’t see any reason ever to rush 6 on a Hail Mary as time’s expiring. You literally need only to prevent them from catching it in the end zone. The marginal benefit of sacking the QB is not worth the risk of what happened - a receiver making a relatively easy play on the ball.

Still better than Joe Buck.

As an aside, this is why I can’t get excited about the NBA: not even halfway through the season and barring injury, only three teams have a real chance at a title. Can you imagine that being the case in any of the other major sports?

I'm more surprised that a UFC fighter is able to read, let alone write.

I am in favor of paying college athletes in revenue-generating sports, but the much easier question here is: why in the hell does the NCAA get away with prohibiting athletes from making money on their own through endorsements, merchandise, whatever? That’s even more offensive to me.

As someone who hates unpopped kernels, I find this product completely inexplicable.

Regarding prestige TV...I just don’t get it. Sorry, but TV is and always has been, with very rare exceptions, mindless entertainment. If you want art, read a book. People are kidding themselves that because it’s accessed through a streaming service and shown without commercials, it’s somehow not TV schlock, produced
