WALL-E was pretty good at fixing himself using salvaged parts; what if he'd had to make do with an Atari 2600?
Worth noting: there are certainly valid critiques to be made about Anita Sarkeesian's "Tropes vs. Women In Video Games" series—and Kotaku boss Stephen Totilo is planning to give that criticism some serious attention in the future.
I hope you meant horrific as in you were horrified at the amount of misogyny in video game culture that her videos described.
It'd be nice if people didn't start criticizing Sarkeesian here. I'm sure they will, but... it would be nice. Not to say she doesn't deserve criticism, just that I'm tired of seeing a bunch of petty white knights show up to discount everything anyone says against her, especially stuff that's actually valid.
When they decided to annualize the IP, that's when it symbolically died for me. Let's face it and get real, whether it be movies or games, annualizing releases quickly ruin the quality of the IP thus running it and the respect it once had into the ground with it. Good media needs time to cook right to perfection and…
You sir....are a gentleman and a scholar. I mean I love me some AC but fuck if they know what the hell they're doing anymore.
It amazes me that these people are claiming they have some sort of overall plan for the story in Assassin's Creed. It'd be more believable if they told us they wrote it by throwing darts at ideas pinned to a wall.
But isn't this game paid for and influenced by the PLA, at least as much as America's Army is funded and approved directly by the US Army/DoD?
MajorPooper? Glad to see some things are, apparently, universal.
haha They even put the bus stop sign in front of the totoro sculpture.
I assumed that, too. Just wanted to highlight the fact that he used MajorPooper as his username (and I wanted an excuse to type poop). :)
Too few games? Maybe too few great games, but I'd argue the market is over-saturated. There are more games that I could possibly play, regardless of the system used.
From what I saw on Science Channel, the sand typically used for these large sculptures is 2 parts sand to one part water. If there's more water than that, it will collapse.
Wow. The Totoro and No-Face sculptures gave me goosebumps. Thanks for showing these
Attack on Titan made it in with some of Studio Ghibli's most amazing works. What a great sense of honor.
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. I am absolutely NOT justifying the actions of these people, but a lot of innocent blood has been shed in the hands of western weapons too and the reasons for those conflicts originally starting have also been pretty gruesome at times.
Adding the Islands was a clear indicator that it was intended to market the issue. Even act as a propaganda. It's just spreading hate about it's rival. Let's face it. Sure, people do really crazy acts of violence but at that time, it was war. And at wartime a lot of people are psychologically affected. Every one who…
It's not the violence itself that is unsettling here, it's the context. China and Japan have a strained relationship and this represents a real life place and a real conflict. It's a bit brutal...but hey, that's life.
Now maybe players can understand what Call of Duty looks like to the rest of the world.
