I get that the supply never matched the demand, but it’s not like Nintendo intended to sell these things long term. This was clearly a short term product that had an insane level of popularity.

I think the demand for it really caught them off guard. It’s popularity is pretty insane and it can’t be easy to match demand for two systems at a time.

This is a terrible plan. Those teams and players aren’t going to want to play additional games. It doesn’t actually address tanking. It creates a new version of it. Hell it makes it easier. You can be competitive until you know you won’t make it and coast.
