Was I the only one that thought the answer to the first question was a bit condescending? I don't know anything about Reiki, & maybe it's complete hooey, but it sounds like the one asking for help has found a personal benefit from their mentor. I don't disagree with the point - (she can hang out with whomever, but you…
It's amazing the looks you get when you tell people that you don't associate with your family anymore. That you wish you could go the rest of your life with them absent from your mind. People always assume that it's you and not them, no matter how "well-adjusted" you turn out. It has absolutely wrecked dating for me.
Maybe I'm an Old at heart, but my 25-year-old self REALLY FUCKING LOVES this apartment and her decor.
What the fuck was the point of this post, though? That's what I'm really trying to figure out. She has "old lady" taste? So? Maybe she likes the aesthetic of Dynasty. Mature tackiness is very in right now. She's 21. She'll change her mind before the year's out. She's not messy? And? I don't leave pizza boxes all over…
I don't know why you assume this home doesn't represent her? Taste is individual. Maybe she really likes the gold circular fan thing? It's not to my taste, but I assume she selected the items or paid someone to select items for her. She seems happy with the outcome as a representation of herself, so why are we…
Oh, wow. She was diagnosed even younger than I was. For anyone who has PCOS, the effects it causes on the body range from painful to just plain awkward. It's even worse when you're a child or a teen. I'm glad that she's found peace with her body! It's such a relief to have that feeling.
I just came here to say... Lindy, you're amazing. I love your work and it's only getting better. Your longform pieces over the last year or so have been the light of Jezebel. Nice job.

Am I the only one that reads "EW" as "EWWWWW" rather than "Entertainment Weekly"? It does make clicking on those links more entertaining....
Are we supposed to hate these things, or what?
It sounds kind of fun to me. Of course you're probably going to get a $10 ring that might not even fit, but that plus the candle plus the game/lottery aspect are probably worth $25, if I was the kind of person to drop $25 on a candle and a picve of costume jewelry. But I don't like rings and almost never light…
Silly or stupid aside, it's hard to really say "scam" because it's not like the company is hiding the fact that some rings are cheap and they might not fit. To me, it's more of a gift—something you buy for a teenage girl or a young woman who loves costume jewelry and candles. Ain't nothing wrong with buying people a…
"We tend to tear the crotches in our jeans quite a bit," the American racer Steven Nyman said. The introduction of leggings-style and elasticated jeans has been a godsend. "We have to buy stretchy jeans," he said."
When asked to comment, the lions responded with, "OM NOM NOM NOM NOM."
The silver lining I took away from this is that the U.S. Ambassador to Denmark is an openly gay environmentalist.
Fat women have "perfectly normal bodies" too, Kate Dries.
Honestly, major, MAJOR props to those people (and you, if you were one of them!). I'm willing to bet that at least one of those people either left the program or seriously risked having to leave the program just for whistle blowing. Faculty tempers/egos are no joke.
Knowing how insular academic departments can be in higher education, I would LOVE to know the whole story as to how this actually came to light and became public news. I would like to shake the hands of the people who made it a public issue, as well. I can think of people who, had they done things like this, would…
