Green Bean Casserole is the devil. I will agree with that.

My grandmother (who grew up in Colorado) used to put marshmallows on her sweet potato casserole. I guess it’s a Midwest thing too?
That’s one of those “Minnesota Salads that’s not really salad,” per @thatmidwesternmom on Tiktok (she’s also got a “Snickers salad” that is a dessert, and damned good, too!)
I told my wife that we will be avoiding the dreaded green bean casserole again this year, in favor of a slight change:
Unfortunately, this is a thing, and people are dumb sometimes.
That’s been my attitude with the people who refuse to get vaccinated for COVID, but that’s another discussion entirely.
I kinda thought the same thing when I saw him do his SNL hosting appearance. Some of his stuff was funny, but some of it was...I dunno, just flat? I feel like maybe that was the start of him circling the drain, and this latest bit with The Closer was the full spiral down.
Certainly possible. Either that, or they go to war with themselves and wipe themselves out catastrophically.
This just...I don’t know whether to give up on humanity or not. Seriously. People denying the science of climate change, of the science behind vaccines, the science behind cleaner air via electric cars - it’s making me think that we’re all screwed.
Same here. :) Loved the miniseries and the short lived TV show; even tried to watch the reboot back when ABC tried to relaunch it and it failed. :( I think maybe the majority of Americans aren’t into watching sci-fi right now, which is a shame, because there’s some good stuff out there!
Thanks for bringing up a memory I thought I’d repressed long ago with V.
So excited that Michelle Yeoh is in this! Absolutely incredible martial artist. I’ve followed her career since the days of her co-starring in Supercop with Jackie Chan.
We have kids who take ketamine, aka Special K, to get high. Ketamine is a horse tranquilizer. It’s an anesthetic.
There was an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times written a few days ago by a doctor. She said that she had a man who came in to the hospital because he’d started feeling ill. Rather than going to get a test for COVID, despite thinking he’d been infected with it, he decided to order some hydroxychloroquine and took that.
I used to think he was edgy when he was the host of Fear Factor. Now I just think he’s a douche.
It’s spiraled out of control long before the advent of social media. Weekly World News, Star, Enquirer - the tabloids were the fuel for years, and before that, urban legends. How many of us remember stories of “Don’t dig up saguaro cacti and bring them home - they’re loaded with tarantula babies!” or “KFC had to…
Same here. It’s amazing to me that there are large groups of people who I went to school with, who sat in the same classes I did - Honors and AP classes, at that! - who think the science behind the vaccines is just a smokescreen for a tracking chip, or to rewrite us into lizard men by “reprogramming our DNA”…
No they’re not, silly! Why, I got my injection several months ago, and my cell service on my phone has been superb ever since!
You’re “in space.”
Ok, $6k for me and my wife to go. $4800 for the 2 night stay, plus $1200 for roundtrip airfare from California to Orlando and food (and that’s being conservative)...
