I know, but it’s a pisser when the 49 state legal ones are $99, brand new, at AutoZone or O’Reilly’s, and the 50 state legal ones for the same car are $300.

Unless you’re in California. Then you are pretty much forced to use an OEM catalytic converter. I’ve seen too many “49 state legal” and only 1-2 “50 state legal” cats that are viable. Want a 50 state legal one? Sure! $300!!
