It’s a shame that they can’t just copy old Mercedes W123 chassis design. Those cars are a lot safer than this crop, and they were designed at least 40 years ago.

In the US, unless the patent number is printed on the part, they can only put a claim against everything that was sold after the initial cease and desist notice. If there is a patent number printed on the part, they can lay claim to every piece that was produced, as well as be eligible for treble damages for willful

So, did you keep a spare fan belt with you like every other Corvair owner? True story, my wife’s first car was a 69 Corvair in primer brown. Carbs ran so rich that we had to roll with the windows open in the winter to keep from passing out.

I wasn’t referring to HP, just the bump over retail price, and the risk the bank is taking by financing the whole mess. When I worked in finance at a dealership, there was a limit as to how much over the price of the car the bank would finance - just like a house. Maybe the dealership has some special dispensation

Can you really get $9,000 of dealer adds financed? I would think the bank would balk at that kind of power booking.

The only thing more egrigious than this price is what Renntech themselves are trying to get for a used one:

Honestly, I’m not sure. I don’t think anyone has approached the problem of who would be at fault in an accident.

1st gear: Marketing is everything. If the insurance companies can get behind it and offer discounts, and the government offers some sort of incentive, people will get behind it. The money has to be there - people won’t make the jump if its not cheaper somehow.

It’s Rimmer! Where’s the “H” on his head?

Important question: will you be wearing pants to your wedding? Assuming it’s indoors, there is a good chance that the answer is no.

I wonder how many times he’s pinched his foot in between the bead of the tire and the rim.

and this one...

some Kiwi named Jackson (but spelled Jaxin, like a personified energy drink/STD hybrid)

Yeah, up here where we live (I’m half hour north of Philly), most of the CPO V60's are $28-29K. I guess with a little pushing they would drop a few grand. When I worked at Cadillac, a CPO car had a lot of gross in the price. The actual certification cost the dealer $1,000, but they would mark the car up $3-4K because

I love the idea with this list, and you put together some great cars (I didn’t know the BMW diesel was that cheap!), but I think some of the sizes and choices are a little off.

#10. Learned that the hard way when changing the center support bearing on my 1981 Mercedes 300D. 30 years of grime and general diesel disgustingness found its way right into my eye. I looked like I was a cut-rate droog in Clockwork Orange.

unsolicited post-first date dick pic.

Don’t you think residuals are terrible? I’m sure Chrysler Capital knows better. Usually when a car is on the way out, incentives get crazy for purchase, but go away for a lease.
