Judging by the track record of the Odyssey, the transmission was already a weak point all on it’s own. They suffered from overheating trans fluid in the late 90’s/early 00’s so bad that they extended the warranty on the trans itself.

I haven’t seen a lender that wouldn’t report it as a repo. It still takes them time and effort, and costs them money to repo the car. I’m not saying there couldn’t be exceptions, but it seems a little far-fetched.

Looks like 2 pieces of aluminum flat stock and 4 holes drilled into each should fix your problem permanently. That way you won’t have to play “who’s on first” with dumb cops who don’t realize what they’re looking at.

Nothing is stopping you from selling it once you’ve had your fun, and assuming nothing goes tits up, you should be able to get about that money. Have fun with it while you can.

None of the new trucks are small trucks. NONE. Even your fellow Jalopnik writers are calling them mid-sized. My 2002 4cyl 2WD Tacoma is small, but it still doesn’t get what I would call good gas mileage. If I could get 30mpg it would be the perfect truck.
