I’m not so sure there’s a figure we can say is the right amount, even when considering weight. Take for instance, the new Volvo XC90: owners say that the T6 model (4400lbs) feels about the same with its 316hp as the outgoing 3.2 (4700lbs) did with 240hp.

Knowing XC90s, it’s probably fine.
