Meh. Did the film win because the Academy’s voters only recognized Bryant’s name? I’d put money on it.

“Tucker got paid when he made his special based mainly on his resume, why shouldn’t Mo’nique?”
Maybe I’m just a cynic, but to me this very clearly reads as an incredibly roundabout way of saying “no”.
hahahhahahahahahhahhahahahahhahahahahha you are an idiot hahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahahahhaha
Yes. This is not “legal hell.” Nor is this the same as the Weinstein DNAs. These are women who engaged in consensual affairs and then sold the rights to their stories, signing contracts they possibly did not understand. There’s no coercion here and there’s no crime being covered up.
I don’t feel bad for Melania at all, i assume she knows he cheats on regular basis. I am sure there are more cases.
WAIT!!!!!
As a piece of art, Sherald’s work is... interesting. Aesthetics are totally subjective. I’d have to sit with it before making any sort of detailed commentary. As the official portrait of Michelle Obama? It’s not good because it doesn’t look like her.
Obama’s portrait is amazing but I am really pissed off at how bad Michelle Obama’s portrait is. Not the artist’s best work by a long shot. It looks like a B+ drawing from a high school art show. She deserves so so so much better. Kehinde Wiley should have done both their portraits.
I saw the trailer and was left wondering if Peter Rabbit was always full of Home Alone-type violence.
I just can’t even...
I really like Obama’s portrait! But... Anybody else think the Michelle portrait kind of looks like a talented high school senior’s portrait of Kerry Washington?
Republican in the front, skinhead in the back.
I saw the statement in Facebook right after it was posted, didn’t even think about the SOTU. I liked the statement, I understood her reasoning and her regret. She makes no bones about the fact that hindsight is 20/20, in fact she devoted one of many paragraphs to that idea.
For me it’s not about wanting her to be the perfect rape victim. It’s mkre that she was trying to shame people like Meryl Streep, who she didn’t even know if she knew about Weinstein, when she was openly defending Salva. You can’t rail that everyone is being complicit with regards to your rapist, based on a hunch…
Someone once said “Black women will always be too loud in a world that never intended on listening to them.” I’ll say the same thing about this sargeant that I said about Gen. Kelly when he made up that story about Rep. Frederica Wilson. The fact that Black women speak at all is an affront to these people.
She is a total idiot but probably not racist.
Her and Ivanka get this pretty white women force field that shields them from their own shitty behavior. Melania pushed the birther issue, made excuses for her husband and decided being rich was worth more than not being an asshole.
Well, you started it, insulting his brilliant method of getting free lemonade!
Before we begin, let’s have a look at Netflix’s current offerings where Mo’Nique is featured: We have, I Coulda Been Your Cellmate (2006), Shaq’s All Star Comedy Jam: Dallas (2010), and Blackbird (2014). And...that’s it. So, we have a documentary about women in the penal system, a forgettable comedy show, and a film…
