Just to mention, the reason that they were suing Geohot was not because he hacked the PS3 to install Linux but because he put the rootkey to sign software to prove it's genuine, on line... and that the rootkey classes under law as IP.

Sorry mate, but your buddy sounds like a bit of a muppet.. Trying to prove someones a jerk by being a bigger jerk will never teach that person a lesson.

Ahh, but you have to look at the clues acording to Rob Ager...when you do it's blatant I tell you... blatant! (end sarcasm)

I saw something this guy did before on the Shining called "MAZES, MIRRORS, DECEPTION AND DENIAL" (I think it might have been io9 that linked to it).

It's one of those phrases that's a little hard to put in context the way it's written

See what your saying, but in regards to the sports examples, doesn't football (the american kind) also have an association with cheerleaders and racing in real life generally has pit girls before the race.

This is why in the UK most people my age refer to this newspaper as the Daily Fail

I like the "10 years after patch" idea... Of course that will mean patches realeased at 9 years 11 months which change the default text colour from white to off-white ;-)

Just to mention, part of the accusations seem to be that when Megaupload removed a file which infinged copyright, they didn't actually remove the file but the link, and considering there would be several links to the same file this isn;t really "Deleting the copyright material"

I usually do my first play through on "normal" difficulty.

OK...I'll bite

While I agree that the consumer wanting something cheap is a big part of the problem, is it not also related to the company trying to maximize profits for the benefit of the share holder.

You're right in that he didn't mention that he knew the penny arcade guys, but he did say "See you at CES , E3 , Pax East ….?" and it was that comment that made the PA guys go "hey, do we really want this guy at our event?"

Completely agree with you on the starwars front.

That was one thing I was always surprised about with DC Online.. launching a MMPORPG on the PS3 was always a risky thing (as in the past it;s not been a platform for this kind of game) and I do wonder if they would have got a lot more people paying monthly subscriptions if they had gone the route of giving the

Mirrors Edge... great game, but I could only play a little at a time.
