That and hedging. See: Romney’s comments today. They want to have a backstop in case this does end like it might-- that way they can point to this one vote and not the 30+ months of blank check and say “Trump hijacked our party but we stood up”.

It’s an old article but the Senate did it again this week.

It’s only an old article because they also did it 6 months ago.

This. Hillary had one minor scandal on email practices-- it was hammered home week after week, month after month, whereas Trump had more than a dozen significantly more severe scandals which had substantially less impact because the press and the public could never focus too seriously on any one scandal.

This- I mean if people could understand relatively complex financial shenanigans that New York Times story from a few months back about Donald and his siblings dodging hundreds of millions in taxes on their inheritance from Fred; instead it was a half week story at best. This is simple- even the WH’s

Her office’s mishandling of the Green New Deal largely discredited it, I get that she’s young and she’s from NYC but I feel like the media (on both the left and the right) is attributing far, far too much to AOC.

May be he liked her...interesting apparel choice at the UN this week?

They’re not knocking the policy, they're knocking the political feasibility when the 60th vote is Joe Manchin or further right

I mean, if the DNC had just done the smart thing and made him chair instead of Perez or Ellison we’d all probably be better off- the party would have smart tailored messaging and infrastructure; the primary would be less prolonged and Buttigieg would have been able to rise to a more significant position than midsized

Also that it would be easier to pass amd incremental improvements are better than moral victories which don't achieve change

This eagle just refuted Franklin’s case for the Turkey as national icon

Wait.... Hiw is this a nothing burger, even in this edited summary the President sounds like a cheap thug shaking down a shopkeep for protection money

That Baracka and a boy naned Sue somehow aren’t grey is telling

That you think Splinter would hvave posted defending Hillary is hilarious

Seriously, literally the only point of this post seems to have been to bitch that Hillary hasn’t taken a vow of silence and/or died

The Bus thing is legitimately just fucking brilliant, evil but brilliant. The equivalent would be if HW Bush had leaked that he secretly attended Flaming Lips shows to change people’s association of him with lips.

He’s done the British version of the Dubya trick- appeared so bumbling and vaguely charming that people forget he’s a manor born aristocrat (metaphorically not literally)

Corbyn’s ambiguity on Brexit is a huge obstacle at this point

Eh, I think a Lib Dem led coalition may beba better bet at this point- both because it can draw the Remain Con defectors and because unlike Labour it's unambiguously anti-Brexit. Corbyn in just the past week has suggested Brexit could be a good thing

It’s a high bar but that was probably the mlst educational Last Week Tonight segment- it completely changed how I viewed Johnson- from slightly smarter Trump + Rob Ford (-crack) to calculated sociopath (if still less bright than he thinks).
