It was probably due to improvements in mass production of more intricate parts at low cost. I’m sure they would have put more details into older cars if it were cost effective..

I’m hoping I won’t.. 2012 is the first year of that new engine... from JD Powers the car is gets good reliability ratings. Plus it’s getting 10% better MPG than the 328 BMW coupe I had. The new ones just didn’t wow me with options and amenities, maybe it was to familiar to me = boring, or maybe I’m getting older.. lol…
