Whhhhhhhhy is everyone whining that they didn't show any games? E3 is like TWO weeks away, in what universe does it NOT make sense to wait for the BIGGEST gaming expo in the country to show off all your GAMES.

I do not understand nerd rage.... I just don't....

Good, use your nerd rage. Let the hate flow through you.

Not really. His point hinges on user input creating a unique product. You don't do anything to alter the playback of the Avengers when you make a copy. However when you make a let's play video you're input creates something that is generally not identical to what someone else may create.

I really really like this game but I'm really really bad at it. My last play through I successfully went from being King of Norway with some surrounding territories to some Duke's vassal ruling the 1 territory island off the East coast of Scotland, all in only 3 generations! How's that for screwing your great

Fair enough, though I'd still disagree with it as a declaration. I enjoyed BF3 a lot. I'm also a big campaign mode person in general so I'm really looking forward to the BF4 campaign now.

I just hope they don't make it to "arcadey." The fact that I see "smoke trails" on grenades, presumably to make them easier to see,

That's a bold statement to declare what deserves my money.

After a very frustrating few days the game works now. I think the launch was a failure but the game isn't, the game would only be a failure if they gave up and just shut the whole thing down.

yeah, I hope they can learn to. I really wonder though how much there is to learn. These companies don't really share data with each other. Also there is the fact that someone at Maxis thought they'd done their due diligence and gotten the server capacity right. Of course they missed by such a huge margin it's crazy.

I was pretty sure that the Halo multiplayer servers were just front end stuff, the matches themselves were all P2P. That requires a lot less infrastructure than a persistent game like Diablo III or SimCity.

I would take this a step further and say don't pre-order any game from any publisher(not just EA) that requires an always on internet connection IF you're not willing to be patient and wait for them to work through the inevitable clusterfuck that launch week is.

That does not justify bank fraud to get a refund.

This is the most accurate assessment I've seen so far. The bigger pusblishers always seem to fuck up server capacity and then they're dragging their dicks through the dirt while they scramble to throw new servers up.

The internet continues to function normally.

a troll late, a dollar short.

The troll is weak with this one.

+1

especially when it appears to be magic/way fucking better than the garbage machine pistol I just lost because aforementioned magic weapon got used on me.

To echo what Chad said and even expound on the fact that I've certainly not been hiding in a cave. Not only do all those other companies Chad mentioned allow re-acquiring of digital licenses but even Origin from the WTFEVIL Electronic Arts behaves in the same way Steam does.
