The thing you need to realize, is that no matter where you stay—you are going to have to travel long distances on slow, crowded roads to get to all of the various sights/hikes/locations (Old Faithful, Prismatic Spring, Grand Canyon, etc.).

I understand buying this if you need something that is economical and you’re willing to put up with a lot. That said, having bought one and attempted to use it for multiple trips, I would seriously consider whether this is the solution you want.
