That. Is. Awesome. Also, I'm just really enamored by the fact that you're a paleontologist. Even though I love microbiology, I sometimes day dream about other careers (at work, mind you... I'm a great employee) and that is definitely at the top of my list.

Haha, that's fantastic! Congrats on making it to med school too!

Perhaps so! This one is from October of last year (so it's hard for me to remember deets) and from the POV of a physicist who struggled in the field for quite a while. There have been quite a few articles on the topic, which is great! We're talking about it!

Yes. Apparently this guy. I worked with him for about four years and this was not unusual. He used to be so much worse though. He was not very self-aware and would forget that most of his coworkers were women with strong personalities, then offend everyone by saying something terrible.

Hahahahahahaha

It was actually in the context of an NYT article about why there aren't more women in STEM.

Aw, shit. I must have gotten one of those MAN lab coats. *facepalm* duh!

OOHHH. That is kind of fun actually. Phew! For a second there I thought that all the career-driven lady legos were going to be in constant pain.

My lab coat is not form-fitting. Like, at all.

Some people like to smoke a cigarette afterward, I on the other hand, really want a burrito. Carnitas, please.

I once had a roommate who brought home the fruit flies they had used in an experiment for a genetics lab. She kept them as pets until they died. She was my second favorite roommate of all time. (They never escaped, so it was cool.)

I KNOW, RIGHT?! Ugh. I'm not going to lie... I feel a little rejected. Why not me, Ingrid?! WHY NOT ME?

THANK YOU! Thank you for volunteering for Wendy. I believe in you and Wendy and so hopeful for the future of Texas! I am a Texan not currently living in Texas and I have mixed feelings about it. I love where I am now, but of course I miss home and wish I was there to help fight the good fight. Even if y'all's team

I'm sorry you've been feeling down. :( It's hard not to miss having a companion. I broke up (he broke up with me) with someone in January. I was truly heartbroken. It was around the same time my best friend started dating someone amazing. I'd be lying if I wasn't a little jealous, but also really happy for her. I

Haha! A mullet dress.... I haven't heard it described like that before. But hey, if you can rock it, you ROCK it. :)

Way inappropriate. I'm sorry :( I don't understand why he just can't keep it to himself. I had a similar experience yesterday. I bought myself a new maxi dress and wanted to wear it on a sunny day. I don't think it's particularly low cut. In fact, it's got like a built in sports bra. Anyway, one of my

Yeah, her TB comment struck me as odd as well. I undergo a PPD test every six months and have also had the Quantiferon Gold and chest x-rays. There are false positives of course, but I've never heard that "the first is always a false positive" (what?). Since the US doesn't vaccinate against TB, we can use the PPD for

Guy Fieri? Ugh, but don't care. GIMME THE CHEESECAKE.

SHOW ME MORE RUGBY, PLEASE.

I'm not gonna lie... I think I might have a thing for shorter guys. Like, the last several guys I've dated have been what most people would say are "short" (really, they've been my height, maybe an inch or two taller).
