Probably would if I had one. I use my Galaxy S3 frequently to look up commands and check for outages and such when I'm working on customers PC's.

In my experience, iOS is a lot harder to fix when things go wrong and much harder to navigate. Mind you I don't use a iphone (never will) but every time I'm setting up something like WiFi, email, or whatever else for iPhone it takes me 2-3x longer than it does on most Android devices. I also have had to squash a…
I started a blog last year for no reason but to keep myself busy and using my skills during long-term unemployment. Wrote a few articles that got few fews. Then I brought a Dell CS-24 Server off ebay and found a number of problems with it. I wrote a review since I couldn't find any good information about it. I didn't…
Looks nice. I'll compare it to RealCalc and see what I want to keep.
While that may work it's the opposite of easy. It surprises me that no one has make a media encoding server software. I've tried doing it with Handbrake, thinking just RDP'ing in to set the jobs up would work....til I discovered how hard it was to get it to consistently do subtitles. Or how iffy it can be with 10-bit…
What is really want is automated solution so I can just drop files on a server in the closest (or a VM on my ESXi server) and let it churn away without ever having to touch it.
Same. The hardest thing about learning Japanese is using it enough to make it stick.
I try to use buy it now when I can. The downside is that eBay rarely gives you listing fee discounts on buy it now auctions (they HEAVILY push standard 7-day auctions) so listing fees can add up fast if you have to list a few times.
One thing I've found to avoid this is to use a official USB cable or use a lower power car adapter. If I use any USB cable with my S3 in the car I get the same warning. When I use my old Motorola cable I have no problems. It gets warm but I've yet to get the error again, even driving for almost 4 hours straight.
The lcd test works well except for monitors that don't have anti-glare coatings.
No. I know what a MAC is and the difference between a MAC and a IP. Whether it's just the specific device or ROM I don't know. I've seen a few other phones do this as well and anyone.
I have to wonder how effective this would even be. My old Droid X would change it's MAC on WiFi every time it connected. I haven't checked my OG Droid or S3 but I wouldn't be surprised if they did something similar.
Speedview is another good app. It basically is a speedometer that relies on GPS. It's pretty accurate too. I found out my car's speedometer is about 2 MPH slower than the actual speed. If you're the speed demon type you can set it to track 0-60 and quarter mile speeds and times as well.
For work/career email I use a work@firstnamelastinitial.ath.cx email through google apps. I might switch to my website domain eventually as it gets more hits. name@aramblinggeek.com sounds nice though work@firstnamelastinitial.ath.cx is fine to (though a little hard to type).
I've done that for awhile. trash@<mydomain> for temp services, things I just want to check out or for things I know I'll get spam from. Easy to just check it for verification email when I expect them. Otherwise I just let it sit and it doesn't matter if it fills up. Since it's on google apps I can always just delete…
Added to my Work USB. This could of saved me about an hour and a half last week on a client's PC.
Because while the unemployment is only 8.5%, if you factor in the amount of people who just stopped looking, the number of business's that can't afford to even offer jobs and so on it gets much higher. Add in the 20-30 age group and it's more like 30% unemployment. That and the stupid legislature just screwed the…
I'm just happy enough to have a job. With 8.5%+ unemployment (among the highest in the nation) it's a rarity these days. I may be contract work so it isn't steady but it pays well ($25-35 an hour for a <30 yr old is great). It will do until I can land a steady, full-time or salaried position in one of my fields.
