Yet another reason why I left facebook years ago and will not be back. They still haven't gotten the privacy thing under control in all this time and generally have a delusion that it's not an issue.

Right now I'm using 5.1.0-799733. At the moment I'm just running a VM running Server 2008 Standard with VMware Workstation, the vSphere Client as some other tools like Putty and such. I have PowerCLI on it though but haven't really gotten into learning it. That VM is them set up with RDP so I can connect remotely.
Why can we just not throw java in the trash where it belongs and move on. It's become something I uninstall immediately on any machine and refuse to install. If an application uses java, then it doesn't get used!
No. vCenter requires a 64-bit OS (Server 08, Server 08R2, etc.). To run a 64-bit OS you need a CPU with Hardware Virtualization. The CPU in my machine is one of the earlier Core 2 Quad (Q8200) which doesn't have VT. I'm actually running my ESXi with a Enterprise license.
Ah, I also have a download VM that does all my torrenting, podcast download, heavy http/ftp downloads, and keeps a full copy of my dropbox box folder (I would put skydrive on there too is it wasn't so broken on server 08).
I've looked at them but I particularly want the dell 2900 towers because they're 1. easier to expand 2. better cooling and thus less noise than a rack server 3. better drivers for dells than hp usually have. Also, the perc 5/5i/6/6i controllers are some of the best in the industry.
Software RAID isn't bad. If you have the CPU/RAM and preferably and good card like a 2/4 port SAS card then you can get some great speeds. 5x most modern drives should still be able to saturate a Gigabit connection. An added bonus is that it's transferable. You won't need to worry about the RAID card going and not…
Got a ESXi Server running that runs a:
Probably not the best place to advertise. As far as your blog goes, just have fun!. Write about what you enjoy about and know. The blog I started just to waste some time and to try to improve my chances of getting a job is growing beyond my expectations without much work from me. Heck, I've even managed to be one of…
I'd wait at least a month. CES is coming up in less then 2 weeks so I'd wait and see what they show. It should give you an idea of what's coming out in the next year or so. Prices also usually drop after the new stuff is announced.
I saw somewhere that for a movie to be profitable it needed to bring in at least twice the production costs. Still, of that entire list there's only 2 I bother seeing. One is The Avengers which I rented on Xbox live a few days ago and enjoyed. The other is the Dark Knight Rises which I'm just trying to find time for.…
I stopped downloading domestic movies a long time ago. If I have any interest in seeing it, I usually rent it of Xbox Live. $5 isn't much for 1080p and 5.1ch surround (depending on the movie). Otherwise I usually just wait until it's available on TV.
Science Fiction = Science Reality. Who ever that that Bio-Foam from movies/games would make it into the real world. Now....as for my flying car and hologramic AI assistant...
They've had machines like this in Japan for more than a decade. It's not uncommon to even find vending machines there serving hot raman and other food.
Probably in a few months after the kinks are worked out. Right now I've been running Windows 7 for 2 years (I'm due for a refresh once this semester ends) and it meets all my needs. I'll likely stick with it until I get a new pc. That's tied to actually finding a job and having money.
Sign up for a free google ads tryout, they'll give you a $50-100 credit to work with. A quick google search should bring up the exact process.
This would be nice, especially in heavy rain or with dirty roads. If these won't wear away like paint tends to do it's especially nice. Nothing can be more concerning then driving in a heavy downpour at night with little light and trying to stay on the road. I'm a pretty good driver so I can pretty much tell by the…
Or you could of did the google ads trick for free.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers and NEEDTOBREATHE tomorrow? YES!
Already had this from one of the amazon market free app-of-the-day deals but this is nice. Highly recommend this to anyone.
