I don’t know about all states, but on the California Megan’s Law site it will absolutely tell you what crimes sex offenders were convicted for. I’m guessing 99% of men who claim they’re only on the sex offenders registry because of public urination are full of shit.

Yes, I had a neighbor who was a registered sex offender and I found out from his sister that it was because he got caught having consensual sex in public, nothing else. Meanwhile the guy down the street had touched multiple children under his care. These are not the same!

Understood, but I suspect it was an older man who’s fatherly instincts kicked in when he saw the woman chained up in a cage and just said what was in his mind. Not saying it’s right OR wrong, just saying, I can sort of understand his point as well as your annoyance.

So this guy was a rapist, was allowed to plead down his crime, and within two years after his release he had murdered at least four people.

When applying for his real estate license in 2006, he explained his sex offender status in a decidedly different fashion from the crime for which he served time, essentially chalking the whole incident up to “heated fight” with his then-girlfriend, calling it a “youthful mistake.”

I really think that sex offender lists should include a description of what they did. That way we can distinguish the “public urination” folks from guys like this.

My first job in high school was as a bagger at Safeway. I got written up for not smiling and greeting a secret shopper. I thought it was hysterical and bullshit then, and it would be even more bullshit if that job had been my livelihood and not something I was doing for a summer to keep myself in beer and NIN CDs.

What blows my mind are the complaints from customers. I’ve had conversations with several different people who complain about unsmiling service employees and I’m just like “why do you even care??” And they act like I’m the unreasonable one.

I appreciate when employees help me, but I don’t need 14 different workers asking me how am I doing. I know there’s mystery shops (which offer nothing of value), but jeez. The problem is certain customers love the attention. “Oh they’re so nice at _____” even though it’s all forced from top to bottom.

Those eggs are gonna hatch Asian or some shit and new guy is gonna be asking himself why he’s even surprised.
