Oh gawd, the hydra in Dark Souls. That was awful, I felt the exact same way, and don't even get me started on the water colossus... Ugh.

The first time lagiacrus showed up in Monster Hunter Tri. I have a fear of video games with deep water and I was already a bit on edge, but I was surrounded by water brachiosaurus' with shells, eating kelp, which put me at ease, just a little.

I'm partial to MVC3's Taskmaster and his Sword of Black Knight" counter, he just sounds so cool.

I'm debating on getting Amalur, but I don't really know much about it and, bundled with origin, I'm not sure if it's worth it. Anyone able to give it a good recommendation?
