It's a nice thought that the drivers are -or even could be- competing in identical cars, but it's not a reality in today's races. Even in "spec" races where all cars must be built to specific rules (or sometimes even bought from the factory and not modified) the big budgets have an advantage. They are able to better

The timing belt on a 928/944 is a well-known failure point on the engine. The belt costs $15 and the a replacement engine is worth more than most 928s/944s.

This is amazing! I love how dumb some people are.

No extra long ties? No thanks. I can't tie a half-windsor with a normal tie - it ends up too short.

Always do this. Not just in life decisions - in specific projecs too.

I love the self checkout. Individual checkouts experience the issues above, but you end up waiting in a line for 4 checkouts, not one. Chances are at least 1 of those (probably more) will move at a fast pace.

1. Don't drive drunk. Call a cab, asshat. You don't get kudos for deciding not to drive more after you've already driven.

Also good: Triumph of the Nerds. Interesting documentary about the beginning of silicon valley made years ago.

I'm not so sure about that. I have flown less than 100 times and gotten my luggage lost at least 3 times. That makes it bare minimum 97% (for me).

Side note for those who want to do this. This is typically not what you find at the store. Normal confectioner's sugar is diluted with flour or starch to save money. For most recipes, this will be preferable, but it may occasionally be sweeter than intended.

There might be one or two guard rails, but oddly enough, they're in the places where they're the least needed.

Radar dectecors are useless but it still works out. Since the road crosses state lines with no roads that turn on to it, if you drive one from NC to TN and don't see any cops there won't be any on the way back either. About 10 of the 11 miles are in TN.

For anyone who hasn't been to the Tail of the Dragon before - I went last year and got GoPro footage of the entire road. Check it out.

These can typically only read the federally mandated emissions system codes. If your favorite gearhead has a particular favorite car, get him an OBDII to USB cable and the appropriate aftermarket software for his make. Can be had for between $100 and $500 depending on the make and models supported.

A vaporizer. I know so many people who smoke and don't realize what a difference it makes.

Watch out for the browsing. This is not truly anonymous. As described, only the browser is anonymous. It can be broken within the browser by Flash, and nothing outside the browser will run through Tor.

COMMAS!!!!

It's at least perceived that way by Google. At the least, Mac is now based on the Linux kernel, which does say good things about security because of the better separation between the OS, GUI and applications. Microsoft historically hasn't made as clear of a separation between the OS and GUI which means a GUI bug can

Google stopped allowing most of their employees to use Windows-based PCs for work use years ago due to security concerns. Mac may be a competitor, but it is more secure than Windows. I think Linux is probably the preferred OS, but Google probably cares more about their employees being happy and productive and not

Online only. NPR has the most timely updates, but Google's map is really good. I didn't like CNN's map and New York Times keeps reverting back to around 9:00 pm EST when Florida had 40% reporting. NYT does have really good state pages. Don't live in one of the states in questions, but I want to keep up with the 6
