DVORAK is typically the fastest keyboard layout, not alphabetical. (However, it's only marginally faster than QWERTY). Most keyboards can be switched by simply moving the keys and changing the software settings.

Fair enough. I'll admit I'd LOVE to convert one of the old Greyhound Scenicruisers to a modern drive train for an RV —- they are beautiful buses. I've also considered buying a mid-80's MCI or Prevost to convert to an RV as the best compromise between drivetrain and looks —- HAS to have the aluminum sides.
You do make some good points. I agree that a hybrid is not ideal for a Taxi cab (or for any car, really). Also, there are many people that care about the busses, but even here on an Automotive blog, they are in the minority. (But I'll admit I'd LOVE to convert one of the old Greyhound Scenicruisers to a modern drive…
Why is everyone so upset about what a taxi looks like? The new taxis are more economical, better for the environment, easier to get into and out of, and cheaper. A taxi is a utility vehicle, not a luxury vehicle or a local custom. Nobody complains when the bus manufacturers change design.... should be the same for…
Does this apply to all Verizon phones? I'm wondering if I can now tether my (embarrassingly old and useless) Blackberry storm.
I've found that if you post in a reputable car forum specific to your car then people will be more than happy to recommend a place, and can probably tell you a few good and bad stories about each shop. I use the forums at Pelican Parts, but they're probably all fairly similar.
Autocross. I told each salesman that I wanted a sports car (as opposed to a muscle car). I wanted something that is fast on a track, not in a straight line. Manual, 2 door, no 4+4 configuration. Ended up with a 2000 Boxster S because the handling blew everything else away.
I was looking to have my transmission rebuilt on my utility truck (99 Dodge Dakota) a while back. I was at an Aamco and asked them what transmission fluid they use when they refill. They told me that they use a "Universal High Grade ATF".
I would consider it. The Linux and particularly Ubuntu community has spend a lot of time and effort recently trying to make Ubuntu more user friendly with a lot of success.
But I would argue (and I suppose I am) that you have to draw the line somewhere. Every little thing like this, while it's not a big deal in itself, adds to a society where freedom is replaced by fear. A million tiny steps still make a mile. From my perspective, it seems that the line in the sand keeps getting pushed…
I'll admit that the plane was a limited example, but in general, I think that (many) people perceive there to be a higher risk of harm due to terrorism that there actually is.
I'm with thethePete on this one. You can't eliminate risk from life. No matter what you do shitty things happen sometimes.
If we're going to automate a lab, why would one invent an advanced robot designed to use devices designed for humans? It seems better to do it the opposite way - a basic robot that could use machines designed for a robot to use.
I used to work at a fine-dining Italian restaurant, and can tell you that this works for the majority of bottles. However, in a formal environment, it is considered to be quite inappropriate.
Yep- 350. Almost always true. They should sell an oven that just has the options: "350" and "off"
It's fine. They wouldn't have been able to have butter before refrigeration otherwise. It probably has a (much) longer shelf life with refrigeration, but a single stick will last long enough on the counter.
Not explicitly, but Apple has a history of claiming that it was the first innovator for a particular feature or technology when it wasn't really the case. It can often be tracked down to someone who did it before Apple. (see: Steve Jobs rant on how Microsoft is copying his ideas when he copied all of then from Xerox…
Has apple been reduced to patent trolls or are they that scared of the competition?
Nailed it. I live in Atlanta (Marietta, actually). It drives me bat-shit crazy.
While I'm on a roll:
